What types of lawns are used in Australia?
There are many varieties of lawn which is grown all around the world. In Australia there are 6 common types that are often used for our back and front yards.
Sir Walter Soft Blade Buffalo – A soft blade grass with a broad leaf and a soft feel. Extremely durable, low maintenance, shade tolerant and great weed resistance.
Hybrid Bermuda – Hybrid Bermuda has a very fine leaf, it’s very invasive and requires frequent maintenance due to it’s fast growth. Sir Grange – Zoysia also have a fine soft leaf blade and is another fast growing variety which is ideal for sporting grounds as it can be cut short. It requires frequent maintenance due to it’s highly invasive growth. Nullabor Couch – Couch varieties have perhaps the finest leaf of all the Australian grass varieties. Another fast growing and invasive grass which requires constant maintaining.
Fescue – Fescue is ideal for cooler climates. It is more resistant to frost and can be slow to establish. Fescue requires frequent watering, but it is non invasive so it doesn’t need as much maintenance.
Eureka Kikuyu – This variety loves full sun, has a medium soft leaf and is highly invasive, requiring high levels of ongoing maintenance.
All lawn varieties are different and require different levels of care. Lawn care takes time, effort and money. Our artificial lawn solutions take the hassle out of having lush green lawn at all times of the year.

Type of issues that can be encountered with real lawn:
Dry patches – Caused by the soil underneath the lawn drying out and becoming increasingly difficult to wet and keep moist.
African Black Beetle – Black beetle infestation can mimic dry patch problems so it is best to seek help from a professional from the outset to establish what the issue is. The grubs of the African Black Beetle are invasive feeders and literally cut the grass off at the rood under the soil causing major crop loss.
Dollar Spot – A fungal disease which causes ‘spots’ in the lawn or turf. Usually prevalent in the November to March months due to the humidity, more commonly found in Queensland.
Sedges – Sedges are invasive lawn weeds which are very difficult to detect and effectively rob the lawn of its nutrients. They are seed producers so spread quickly and if not treated early will generally take over completely.
We take the burden out of having a nice garden throughout all seasons of the year. Our turf is supplied and laid by our turn installation specialists so you can be sure that it is of the highest quality.
